Research Associate, Biology at Crinetics Pharmaceuticals
San Diego, CA, US

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join the Biology group at Crinetics. You will work within a highly collaborative group focused on GPCR targets linked to unmet needs in endocrine disease. The successful candidate will participate in discovery and translational efforts aimed at identifying and characterizing novel therapeutic targets. You will investigate the mechanisms of action of new molecules and define optimal drug profiles in vitro. You will work in a dynamic environment to help advance programs from discovery into development as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain multiple stable cell lines
  • Design, optimize, and validate in vitro cell-based functional assays, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot
  • Perform immunoassays (ELISA, staining), cloning, and PCR
  • Maintain electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare written technical reports, summaries, and standard protocols
  • Maintain familiarity with current scientific literature and pertinent new technologies. Adapt concepts from literature to bench research to support ongoing studies
  • Support the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on scientific integrity and quality, and one that fosters learning, open communication, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Maintain laboratory notebook
  • Other tasks as assigned

Required experience and skills

  • BS with 5 years or MS with 3 years of experience in molecular biology, cell biology or related fields with a minimum of 3years of laboratory industry experience in a biotech/pharma company
  • Strong laboratory expertise pertaining to pharmacology, cell culture, biochemistry, and molecular biology
  • Experience in any of the following: GPCR biology, metabolism, immunohistochemistry, and primary cell culture
  • Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism)
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organization and record-keeping skills
  • Capable of working both independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Outstanding written and oral presentation capabilities
