The UM Clinical Training Coordinator will report to the Director of Utilization Management. They will work collaboratively with the Director of Education and the Clinical Auditor to provide department specific workflow and process training to both clinical and administrative staff.



  • Develop and conduct New Employee Training (NET) plan for each UM role within the Utilization Management (UM) Department
  • Coordinate the timing of NET with the Director of Education, Human Resources, and Information Technologies new employee training schedules
  • Provides post NET evaluation in collaboration with the Clinical Auditor to assess the effectiveness of training
  • Develop and provide focused training modules for training gaps identified by the Clinical Auditor for both new and current staff on an ongoing basis throughout the year
  • Become the Subject Matter Expert for UM both clinical and non-clinical workflows and processes
  • Work collaboratively with the UM Clinical Program Manager and information Technology to ensure cross team consideration for all requests for reporting, workflow, or system enhancements
  • Identify and conduct quarterly training need assessments by collaborating with the Clinical Auditor
  • Design and prepare all educational training materials and tools using knowledge of training methods and techniques
  • Evaluate effectiveness of training on staff skills and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Gather feedback form staff and Managers after each training session to allow continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Active Nursing License
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a trainer or clinical auditor
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as in a Managed Care Role
  • Proven ability to complete full cycle training (assess needs, plan train8ing, develop materials, coordinate training event, monitor and evaluate effectiveness)
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management
  • Strong communication skills verbal and written
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple training needs at one time
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or healthcare related field is a plus
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Possess a professional demeanor and appearance
  • Ability to travel approx. 30%
