The Senior Manager, Special Projects and Clinical Initiatives, reports to the VP, Integrated Care Initiatives and is responsible for the oversight, management and optimization of care management special projects, initiatives and training.  The senior manager oversees the Care Management Reporting Team and the Care Management Training Team and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of both teams.  The senior manager will also collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders and functional areas.




  • Develop clinical training department infrastructure, including recruitment, hiring, and training of team members that will provide training support to the Care Management Enterprise
  • Mentor and manage Senior Business Analysts that will be assigned to special projects and initiatives within the Care Management Department
  • Manage all aspects of Care Management training (initial and ongoing) and trainer work streams
  • Manage all Care Management special projects and initiatives related, included but not limited to Care Management process improvement activities and initiatives
  • Create a centralized process for receiving incoming training and special project requests, prioritizing the requests, and managing all requests in a project plan
  • Consult with Care Management leadership and other Company stakeholders to identify training and special project needs
  • Implement process improvement activities to drive efficiency (working smarter not harder) and operational quality for all staff.
  • Identify industry best practices for Care Management and recommend practice changes as needed
  • Weekly monitoring of operational reports and participation in cross-functional meetings to address process and program improvements
  • Evaluate and escalate concerns that have potential patient impact
  • Travel to all of Concerto’s markets as needed to perform training and/or project related activities
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other internal market leaders, payor partners, regulators, and corporate teams
  • Promote a positive work environment, set an atmosphere of open communication and feedback
  • Hold staff to high standard of execution operationally
  • Manage staff productivity by developing and monitoring operational reports
  • Evaluate and escalate concerns that have potential patient impact.

  • Minimum license requirement: Graduation from an accredited BSN program
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clinical and/or managed care setting
  • At least 3 years of management or leadership work within healthcare setting
  • Prior clinician program and/or training development and implementation experience
  • Knowledge of clinical standards of care, NCQA requirements, CMS guidelines, and Medicaid/Medicare programs and dual eligible populations, and benefit systems is preferred.
  • Public health, health or business administration studies preferred
  • Quality improvement work in a healthcare setting, with lean certification preferred
  • Location: Detroit with Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Nursing Degree in State of Michigan
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time
  • Average to advanced computer & software skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
