Senior Accountant at Pandion Therapeutics

Pandion Therapeutics is an exciting new company focused on drug discovery and development in autoimmunity and inflammation. We are seeking a creative and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our Team.  The Individual will have the opportunity to work with an enthusiastic team of highly skilled scientists and experienced business people in a matrixed and collaborative environment, which requires excellent inter-personal and communication skills.  The company is currently based in Cambridge, with plans to relocate during the spring of 2020 to Watertown.

We are seeking a strong, self-starting, organized, and energetic individual with a high level of integrity. The company is looking for that ‘go-to’ person who enjoys learning and accomplishing tasks in a fast-paced, team environment. Strong work ethic, solid communication skills, and attention to detail are a must.

 

Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will provide accounting services, including, but not limited to:

  • Review, analyze, and process General Accounting transactions
  • Proactively identify and problem-solve accounting issues. Make recommendations for resolutions
  • Prepare, record and post journal entries
  • Prepare and review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and ensure that general ledger accounts are reconciled with resolution to reconciling items.
  • Oversee purchasing and accounts payable files including processing invoices and inquiries, and related correspondence
  • Manage monthly close process
  • Work closely with the Clinical and Research teams to reconcile financial transactions in the general ledger
  • Administer payroll and employee onboarding
  • Assist in preparation of monthly financial reporting packages
  • Assist in budget vs actual reporting analysis
  • Assist with collaboration accounting and budget vs actual reporting
  • Assist with annual budgeting process
  • Contribute to audit preparation
  • Submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation
  • Participate in other projects as deemed necessary by the company
  • Work closely with all levels of staff and vendors

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, CPA or MBA a plus
  • 3+ years accounting and finance experience (Big 4/CPA Firm experience a plus)
  • Computer Skills: QuickBooks and Excel a must; bill.com, expensify
  • Experience in Life Sciences industry
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an early stage start-up environment
  • Ability to work independently
  • Solid experience with general ledger, the month-end/year end close process, and accounts payable
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills including the ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
