Sr. IT Project/Change Manager at Achaogen

Position Summary:

The Sr. IT Project/Change Manager is responsible for managing and executing large IT strategic and tactical projects with distributed teams and acting as the Change Manager in Achaogen’s internal Change Control Process. S/he must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment, establish strong business/client relationships, work with business owners/vendor partners, and have a demonstrated record of managing large complex projects from start to support. This role includes creating detailed project plans, managing conflicts, communicating status, budgeting, dashboard creation, ensuring that tasks get completed on-time/in a quality manner and ensuring that all processes/tracking are completed per the Change Control Process.

Essential Functions:

Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex IT Projects in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated high level of project accountability and ownership from inception through completion.
Strong attention to detail.
Act as the Change Manager in the Change Control process: reviewing and approving Change Requests and facilitating Change Advisory Board.
Responsible for managing medium and large projects impacting diverse functional areas, clients, contracts and crossing multiple technologies/platforms.
Deliver projects on-time, within budget, and in a quality manner.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, elicits cooperation from senior management, and influence cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
Work closely with:
Quality and business organizations to ensure alignment of SOPs and policies
Director of IT to lead best practices in portfolio management and budgeting to ensure alignment of priorities.
Develop project justifications, business cases, and corresponding return on investment estimates for funding requests.
Strong ability to communicate project status clearly and succinctly to senior management by delivering complex messages in simple and relevant business terms.
Pro-actively identify potential project risk factors, communicate these to the project team, and work with stakeholders to address them.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive results in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Liaise between the business and technology teams.
Comply with company’s IT Policies & Procedures.

Preferred Experience:

Minimum of 7-10 years of demonstrated large, complex IT project management experience utilizing Microsoft Project or an equivalent tool.
Experience with cloud based tools and strong vendor management skills.
Experience working in a GxP/Biotech environment.
History of successful Change Manager execution.
Experience in software project management utilizing traditional Waterfall or Agile Systems Development Lifecycle methodology.
Strong problem solving, negotiating, influencing, facilitation, organization, prioritization, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Self motivated and action orientated with a strong results and deliverables focus and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and follow up on issues with minimal direction.
Experience preferred managing projects involving Computer System Validation.
Preferred Education:

4 year Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent is preferred.
Relevant project management certification a plus (e.g. PMP, PMI, etc.).
Preferred Additional Skills:

An in-depth understanding of Phase IV/post-marketing drug development is preferred (knowledge of or experience with Phase I - III drug development is a plus).
Comprehensive understanding of product and safety profiles.
Demonstrable knowledge of medical aspects of FDA regulations.
Strong communication, organization presentation and business partnering ability.
Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships.
Able to effectively handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others in a positive, collaborative manner.
Ability to work well on cross-functional basis internally and with business partners.
Proficient computer skills, including G-Suite, box and presentation.
