This position is part of the Finance team, with a focus on data analytics and data mining. Its primary areas are building and maintaining analytical tools, research, reporting, and providing technical support by mining, extracting and utilizing appropriate data from source systems and the data warehouse. This is a position with a high degree of exposure to senior decision-makers and will create analytics to drive critical business decisions.


  • Perform analytics to support reporting of financial and operational data by department, service line and market. Particular areas of focus are analyses on utilization cost, revenue, risk scores (“RAF”), claims data and membership data.

  • Act as a liaison with IT around key analytical reporting, data mining, data quality and organization to support the Finance team as well as the broader organization.

  • Assist with data sharing and reconciliation among the various data systems

  • Develop methods for standardizing data collection, database design, validation reports and analysis.

  • Work with our Medical Economics and other Operational teams to perform health utilization, cost and quality analytics to understand drivers of total cost of care.

  • Inform financial forecast modelling and annual budgeting with analytical insights and tools.

  • Track issues with reports, including defects in object logic, schema logic, data quality problems and process errors. Understand complete reporting lifecycle to diagnose problems.

  • Utilize tools to monitor quality of data and assists in development of corrective action plans when issues are discovered.

  • Develop and administer Finance Data sources and other analytical tools.

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Technology or related field preferred

  • Understanding of some of the following areas: Health Plans/Clinic Operations/Medicare/Medicaid/RAF

  • 2+ years of health care experience required, preferably managed care

  • 2+ years of hands on SQL programming experience

  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel and other office suites.

  • Experience with PBCS/Hyperion a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
